I worked in advertising and as a tutor in computer graphics for many years until I was diagnosed with Bipolar 23 years ago. After a challenging adjustment period I pledged I would use all my experiences as opportunities to thrive and have a life that felt no less than extraordinary.
Today I am an enthusiastic artist, writer, life coach, CPMC (Certified Personal Medicine Coach) and have a 10+ years' experience as a consultant, facilitator and motivational speaker both in the UK and internationally. With a background in social communication, I have developed a highly engaging storytelling approach to delivering my talks and training sessions, with focus on positive mental health and the recovery process.
I have worked with a diverse range of organisations, including the NHS, Mind, King's College, University of Porto, UCL, Sitra, Koreo, Freemantle Media, Getty images, The British Heart Foundation, City Lit, Cancer Research UK, Pentoville Prison, Havas, Slam, Pacific Life, The National Theatre and Secret Escapes.
Since 2008, I have been working with Rethink Mental Illness in training programmes designed to improve the service provision in mental health and recovery and, currently, contributing to all staff inductions.
As a Transformation Consultant for the social care provider Look Ahead, I contributed to the creation of personalisation, co-production and empowerment for the non-profit sector, and was a member of the Westminster Mind Executive Committee for strategic planning and definition of policies.
I am a long term practitioner of mindfulness & Meditation and a certified laughter yoga leader; I am also engaged with the study and practice of Positive Psychology and happiness, in line with my fundamental belief on living a life that is no less than extraordinary. We all have the right to thrive and express ourselves, that is what I am passionate about and what drives me every day.
